  1. Super Deluxe

    April 10, 2019 by Ajay

The thing with Kumararaja’s films is that they are spectacularly entertaining, aestheticallly pleasing and intellectually thought provoking all at once. Striking gold in even one of these is a high bar, but we all know that Kumararaja is on a league of his own, don’t we? Starting with a guy dying while having sex and ending with a guy explaining how sex is the beginning of life, Super deluxe takes you on a ride that you never would have imagined even in your wildest of dreams.

  2. 24

    May 13, 2016 by Ajay

I am a huge fan of science fiction films. I am also a huge fan of films that know their audience and spoonfeed them as much as needed. It is not reasonable to have more than 30 minutes of silence involving just primates right in the beginning of the film and expect tamil audience to completely comprehend it the first time they watch it. At the same time, it is also not reasonable to make something like 7aam Arivu and expect people to like it. Indru Netru Naalai found the perfect middle ground in-between recently. And now 24 also has joined the league. It is a good science fiction film with the right amount of spoonfeeding that won’t make any viewer feel too stupid or too smart.

  3. Theri – Unnecessary

    April 29, 2016 by Ajay

I decided to start my summer vacation by watching Theri and I blame myself for this decision. Having access to so many awesome stuff through Netflix and HBO GO, I decided to watch this in a stupid cam print (Go ahead. Judge me.). Not watching the movie in a proper theater with a proper audience might have caused me to have a negative opinion about the film but I don’t think the theater experience would have made any impact in my opinion for this excuse of a writing. Apart from the obvious “vijay fans” jerkfest and the “typical commercial masala drama family audience children’s women friendly genre”, I will try to explain what else that did not work out for me in the film. If you are a fan of anyone related to this film and if you have come this far in this review, I would urge you to stop and read some paid reviews like behindwoods or indiaglitz or watch the other annoyance in the name of video reviews. Continue at your own cost.

  4. Kaththi

    October 24, 2014 by Ajay

I wasn’t really planning to watch kaththi. Not even in Jaya TV for Pongal. What really intrigued me is the plethora of opinions about the movie from very many people which I haven’t seen in a really long time. I thought people just stopped caring about posting their opinions online about commercial movies or any movies in general, but it seems like kaththi brought out the reviewer in everyone.

    December 15, 2012 by Suraj
